You got caught being AWESOME!

Its simple, really:  I'm selfish.  There, I said it.  I get wrapped up in my own world too much, and that's what gave me the idea of the Gold Star Card.  I bought this domain and 365 cards just like the one I gave you.  I give one of these out EVERY day because it forces me to focus on others.  Today it was you!  Some days its easy, some days its hard.  It forces me to be "others focussed".  I probably wasn't comfortable coming up to you, a complete stranger and handing you a gold star when I don't know you, however - I thought to myself "This person is absolutely crushing it for (fill in the blank)" and instead of just thinking it, I decided to let you know.   I was probably nervous, but I did it anyway.  Every time I do it, it gets a little easier.  Of all the people I saw today, I chose you.  I hope you feel special.  And I hope you had a good day as a result.  Be well.

Want to take it a step further? Take a picture of the card (because I really do want you to have it), but give it away to someone else out there that's crushing it (good hair day, great smile, nice jacket, totally pulling off those jeans, rocking that hat, whatever it is...). You'll be surprised - it won't take you long to find her/him. The world will start to feel small again when we can be nice to others when they're not expecting it, and when we have nothing to gain by doing so.
